Baby #2!!

Oh my goodness, it feels so good to finally say this to everyone... I'M PREGNANT!

To all the strangers I was grumpy towards, to friends and family that would let me sit in the front when we drove places, to my students that I always ate in front of, to my coworkers for needing to run to the bathroom constantly, to my loved ones who didn't know for sure, but were wondering or suspicious... now you know!!

Here's how we found out (thank goodness I wrote about it in my journal because my memory is hanging on by a thread these days!)

Dear journal, I have something excting to share... I'm pregnant! Ammon and I found out today! About a week and a half ago I started feeling nauseous and my period was supposed to come like 4 or 5 days ago so I was pretty sure I was pregnant. How we found out is that while we were running errands, we stopped at Reams. I had to ask where their pregnancy tests were and it turns out they were behind the counter. The customer service counter. So I bought one there. When we got home, Ammon cleaned the bathroom. (I told him I didn't want to find out in a dirty bathroom) while I got Lily ready for bed. Then after we put her down, I went into the bathroom with Ammon. But then Ammon stepped out so I could find out first. I peed on the stick, set it on the counter, finished my business, looked up, and it already had a (+) sign! I laughed a little out loud and said quietly to myself, "I knew it." Then I popped my head out, where Ammon was waiting, smiled at him, kind of nodded, and then told him to come look. We hugged, we laughed, we smiled, and then talked about it the rest of the night.

Here's what I wrote in my journal about my pregnancy during the first trimester:

September 13th 2016
Dear Journal,
So far, I've had a hard time with this pregnancy. I'm pretty much nauseous 24/7. Food is no longer good. I don't ever feel like eating, but then hunger makes the nausea much worse. So I've been forcing myself to eat bread, crackers, string cheese, and popsicles. That's pretty much all I eat, but I've been eating a lot of it so I just feel so unhealthy. I've worked out a few times so far which sort of helped with having energy, but usually it just leaves me even more tired. That's another struggle I'm having with this pregnancy... fatigue. Either I wasn't this tired with Lily, or I was so excited about being pregnant that tiredness didn't phase me as much. I mean, I remember being tired last pregnancy, but only after coming home from work. Now, I'm just always tired. And I dread going to work every day. I just want to be home with Lily and not worry about teaching. I've also been very emotional lately. Not the empathetic kind that I had with Lily. But more of the exhausted-I-don't-want-to-deal-with-this-woe-is-me sort of emotions. It's totally pathetic, I know. :) Women have pregnancies that are way more challenging and go about it with good attitudes so I'm trying to enjoy my pregnancy more and remember that I'm growing a human! Another baby like Lily that will bring us so much joy!

So as you can see, I wasn't too thrilled about being pregnant the first trimester. The good news is that I'm feeling much better now that I'm into the second trimester! I still feel nauseous and throw-up here and there, but overall, I have so much more energy and I can eat like a normal person again! I also don't dread teaching anymoreand,  look forward to seeing my students.

For the past few days, Ammon, Lily, and I have been vacationing in San Diego with Ammon's family. It has been so relaxing, so much fun, and was so needed! We have gone to the beach a lot and Legoland a couple times. Here are some more fun pregnancy announcement photos that I considered using:

It was so much fun making this at Legoland.

Lily's face cracks me up in this one

And here are just some more family photos that Ammon's mom took of us at the beach:

This one is my favorite!!

Lily gets really attached to us during vacations. :)
